Maintenance Engineer

Role Overview

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing Waterjet machines, routers, and other types of industrial equipment. This role also includes general building, electrical, and mechanical maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. You will work as part of a small team, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining a safe working environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform servicing, repair, and maintenance on Waterjet, router, and other machinery, including setup and operation of various machines.
  • Carry out fault finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
  • Execute general warehouse duties as required.
  • Record and report maintenance issues accurately within the company’s computer system.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Health and Safety regulations for yourself, colleagues, and visitors.
  • Assist contractors with relevant duties when required.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Machine Maintenance qualification.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Self-motivated, diligent, and analytical with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and testing equipment.
  • PC literate, with the ability to log and track maintenance issues.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with Waterjet or Laser Cutting machines.
  • Formal engineering qualification or completion of an engineering apprenticeship.
  • Knowledge of control systems and automation.
  • Welding and fabrication skills.
  • Experience using manufacturing control systems and related software.
  • Current counterbalance forklift license.
  • Working knowledge of Windows-based applications.

Working Hours

Day Shift:

  • Monday – Thursday: 07:45 – 16:30
  • Friday: 08:00 – 13:00

Additional Hours: Occasional out-of-hours and weekend work may be required to cover breakdowns or urgent maintenance tasks.
